Florida vs Florida State +8.5

Big rivalry game in the Sunshine state, the records won't matter in this one as this game is like a Playoff game of sorts. The Noles just haven't had the type of season that they are used to, even if they are at home. Urban Meyers group is still talking National Championship. Those Gator boys sure look to have the better team in this years classic, and of course so do I. The game will be hard hitting and tough, but in the end the final score will prove this to be a huge mismatch.

A big match up in the Big 12. Kansas has been impressive after falling to 3-5 on the year, got in gear and is riding a three game win streak into this game. Missou had a promising 6-0 start but since have dropped 4 of 5. So here we got two teams going the opposite direction. Both teams are coming into this one with Bowl aspirations and the results of this border rivalry game will determine each schools fate. The trends coming into this one will prove to be deceptive and keeping the line down artificially. All the momentum chasing players will be left holding the bag as the Tigers will of course chew up the Jayhawks.

One final game from me for this college football season, as I may be breaking Greggys rule of picking more than one road team this week, but am adhering to his most important rule, and quitting while I am ahead. This one features new Big East rivals Louisville at Pittsburgh. Pitt comes into this one having dropped the previous 4 in a row. While they are at home and it's senior day and all I still can't see how they can hang with 1 loss Louisville who is still making a bid for a major bowl. They are getting a fat 9.5 at home, and as much as it kills me to say the Cardinal will best the Panther, this one will prove be no contest as I fly into the offseason on the back of the little red bird. The Skrok is back, like it or not to give you 4 big plays for this weeks NCAA action.
There was a rumor that Doc Biff could be coming back, so I was on hiatus, but it looks like I been asked to come out of retirement. So down the stretch we come (in honor of the breeders cup, and of course the Louisville Cards with the clear path to the BCS) and here they come.

Missouri at Nebraska -5.5
This should be a gem in the big 12. Unlike years past this Missouri team is pretty good, they are coming in to this game with a 7 and 2 mark, and making plans for a post season bowl game. The Tigers have covered in 4 of the last 6 games. But most of that is at home, Missou is only 2-5 ATS in the last 7 road games, and haven't beaten Nebraska in the last 5 trips out there. While the Tigers used to be fodder for the Cornhuskers, with Nebraska having dominated the series, two years ago the Tigers snapped the Huskers winning strak with a 41-24 beat down in Missouri, then they did it again winning by the same score last year. That means that Missouri has now beaten Nebraska in two of the last 3 meetings. The one thing though is that both of those wins were at home, this week they go to Lincoln, which on Saturday the stadium will be the 3rd largest city in the state. The Huskers don't lose, except for that Texas game two weeks ago was the first loss there this season. The Huskers come into this one having dropped two straight. But some home cooking and a old whipping boy should be just the thing to get Lil' Red and his 80,000 friends jumping up and down again.

Indiana at Minnesota -4.5
This game is one of those classic mismatches that we just love to snif out. Sure Minnesota has only won once in the last 6 games, and that one win was only a 1 point win over that football factory North Dakota, at home no less. Yet it is hard to really put blame on the Gophers as they faced Ohio State, Wisconsin, Penn State and Michigan in that stretch. Wouldn't exactly call that a cupcake schedule, and heck they did manage to cover against Penn St. Indiana comes into this one with a little more momentum having won three of the last 4 games, including upset wins over Iowa and Michigan state in that stretch. But heck that is the big 10 it's a battle every week. This will be no different, as it seems every big 10 game is for some kind of jug or axe or another weird trophy. The Gophers seem to have the inside track in this one as they have beaten Indiana in 5 of the last 7 meetings, and Indiana sports a 1-4 record A.T.S. on the road. Aside from that they are just a crappy team. The Gophers Go pher it and get it this week.

Penn St. at Wisconsin -6.5
Now this one is not one of those mismatches. No matter where the game is played Joe Pa is not to be counted out. Just think a few years ago they were calling for this guys head. Amazing what a guy who was "finished" wound up doing with that program. The Lions despite only being 3-5 A.T.S. are coming into this one with a two game winning streak. Penn State pitched a shutout in the win at Purdue last week, with the State covering the 3-point spread on the road. Tony Hunt ran for 142 yards and a touchdown, and Anthony Morelli threw for 182 yards for Penn State. So the Lions are lively and absolutely not fitting the profile I like to pick. Fortunately for me I was too late getting my picks up last week as Wisconsin failed to cover for the first time this season last week, as a 21 point favorite! Wisconsin had to score the final 20 points of the game to storm back and earn a 30-24 win over Illinois last week. Wisconsin QB John Stocco passed for 217 yards, one score, and an interception, while P.J. Hill Jr. was kept in check most of last week. So this one will be tough, but even with last weeks big scare these Badgers don't lose at home, and at 5-0 in the last 5 home games, I am thinking the final score won't reflect how close most of this game will be.

Kent St. at Buffalo +15.5
The Five star special, and only because a certain alum gives me a load of crap about both this site, and his "program on the rise" Bull smack (no literally talking smack about the Bulls=Bullsmack!) Sure they started the season 4-0 ATS and 5-1 ATS in the first 6 games, but the little glass slipper has fallen off the Bulls and shattered to bits with the harsh dose of reality as UB has been outscored 83-7 in the last two games. Home dogs and all, but really what home field advantage in Buffalo, they will be playing in front of what 400 people in three feet of snow up there. Most of them will be disguised as snowmen or Seatbacks, and even if Buffalo were to match their offensive production of the last two games and score a SINGLE TD, will anyone even notice. They should because if they do happen to score in this game, they can once again boast about how the program is on the way up again with the highest offensive output since early October. Imagine how much they will be crowing if they can actually score twice, in the same game! What a month it would be!

The Skrok here back after a 1 week hiatus. Contrary to popular belief even if I only got 1 out of 4 right last time, I was not dismissed. I am back and ready to bounce back up with a strong play for this week. Cincinnati at Louisville -24.5

After last weeks fiasco it's back to the fundamentals of college football, and that is mismatch shopping. This one has all the makings of a classic mismatch. Louisville has the look of a top ten team. Cincinnati is typically pedestrian. Sure the Bearcats come into this game riding a two game winning streak, but Louisville has had their number beating them in 6 of the last 7 meetings, and covering the point spread at the same clip. Last year Louisville won by 24 as a 22 point favorite, so this year they give Cincy the extra couple points. Wont matter though last time these two met in Louisville it was 70-7 and this one has the look of another redbird party!

S. Florida at N. Carolina +2.5

This game is another classic college trap game. Here you have the relatively unknown S. Florida bulls, a decent team from the big East. Going into Chapel Hill to take on the Carolina Tar Heels, from the ACC, the bigger "better" conference. One would think this is a mismatch. Well it is, for N. Carolina. They are just flat out not a very good team. They have one win this year, I think its against a I-AA team, like Furman or something. S. Florida may have lost two of the last 3 games, but they covered in the last two in a row. You know how we love that, covers are preludes to victory! S. Fla can chuck the ball around a bit, and can score, they should probably be a 6.5-8 pt favorite, but heck its in N.C. and the Tar Heel name carries with it a heavy price. Take advantage of that and cash it in with South Florida.

Minnesota at Wisconsin -6.5

don't look now, but I am becoming a big badger backer! Why? You might ask, simple enough, they win. Sure Greggy can crow about his U.B. Bulls being 4-1 ATS and all but Wisconsin is 5-0 ATS this year. Yeah they lost in the big house in Michigan and all but losing by 14 when getting 14.5 is a pay day in my book! Minnesota has struggled a bit lately losing the last two at home and now they get to go play Wisconsin. Wisconsin has won, and covered the last 4 meetings, including a 38-34 victory in Minnesota last year, and winning 38-14 as a 7.5 point favorite two years ago when they last met in Wisconsin. The Doc's buddy Barry Alvarez may be gone but the Badgers just keep on the winning ways. Just like Bill Murray in Caddyshack, the Skrok is going Gopher Hunting!

There is lots more great college action this week, some other games I was looking at. USC -19.5 over the Arizona State Sun Devils for one, sure the men of Troy may not be what they once were but they still have enough to whack ASU in Pasadena. Greggys U.B. Bulls host Miami, OH sure the Bulls getting 8.5 and 4-1 ATS and all that, but they were just waxed 55-25 at homecoming by Ball state. Last year Miami rolled 54-13 over Buffalo. Maybe Cinderella's slipper is starting to come off a little bit there. One game I really love but unfortunately I am not allowed more than one visitor pick per week. Arizona visiting Stanford +3.5. Arizona may stink, but Stanford is BAD, the WildCATS will wack stanford. Finally Iowa -18.5 over Indiana, another road favorite here, so I am sure I will here about this one as well, but Indiana like UNC is a basketball powerhouse, football, well they have a team you know. Gotta hate it the next day when your big play gets back doored, and even worse you lost the bet with the Greek, because you have to listen to his stupid lectures about the evils of betting on road favorites.... darn!
so despite the State University of New Jersey winning and getting off to the best start in their history, I am scrambling to get back on track, so here are two more plays for Saturday to right the ship, and hopefully to silence the ramblings of said Greek.

Georgia Tech vs Virginia Tech -9.5

The Rambling Wreck visits Blacksburg. Not exactly the glamour match up in the ACC but one that will have big reverberations through the conference. Georgia Tech has looked solid thus far this season. After its opening loss to Notre Dame, G.T. has won and covered the next three in a row, making this game a huge test. Frank Beamers Tech team is typically impressive, the defense shuts down opponents, already posting two shut outs, and only allowed 23 points all season in total. Though Ga. Tech has a senior quarterback and has been tested through ACC Battles. Winning in Blacksburg is a different story. Last year the Hokies rolled up 51 points on Ga. Tech, and the Skrok is bouncin back with a play that will make everything HOKIE DOKIE!!

Kansas vs Nebraska -21.5

This one is a little bit of a reach, but seeing how its the "Turner National game" tonight and everyone will be watching I thought I would throw a pick out for this one. Kansas is off to an impressive start, having won 3 of 4 thus far this season, even if they only got the cover once. Nebraska is also 3-1 in this match up, rolling over lessor competition before getting a reality check against THE U.S.C.!
Nebraska responded by posting a 56-0 shut out last week, and being that this is a conference game against a team Nebraska has owned over the years, they may show no mercy this week. You might say that Nebraska owes Kansas after the 40-15 beating they laid on the Huskers last year, which is exactly why the oddsmakers gave Nebraska a three TD spread. Won't be enough.

Stanford vs UCLA -23.5

Here is the match up of the college football weekend. Sure you won't find this one on those preview shows. It has all the makings of a turkey shoot. Theredfore that makes this my top play. Historic powers in the Pac-10 UCLA and Stanford go way back. However the only way this one could be competitive would be if this were a basketball game. Stanford just does not have the horses to match up with a solid UCLA team. Though Stanford beat UCLA last year, and this year UCLA has failed to cover in the last two games. Stanford is good medicine for that, the Cardinal have given up 35 points or more to every opponent while managing to score more than 10 only once. Don't have to be a Stanford mathematician to forsee the lopsided results that formula will produce.

It's Big Skrok, Non-Stop

Handing out winners around the clock! The Greek can't get over himself that U.B. is 4-0 ATS and that I didn't hand out U. Buffalo +41 last week. Seriously like we were going to bet against Auburn at home, so instead of any controversy I just didnt bother posting, but I did have Fla. State and yes The Ohio State, it was tough squeeze there but when OSU covered ole Greggy nailed the three team parlay at a nice 6 to 1. Feeding off his B.S. that the Auburn Tigers were overrated since they couldn't cover against UB, he kind of hit again with Spurriers 'Cocks getting +14 at home last week. So they guy is on a win streak, he has been dogging me about my picks all week, so I am posting them anyways, and we shall see who gets the last laugh.

Rutgers at S. Florida +3.5

Yes that is right I am back with the Scarlett Knight. Tough ball game this week visiting Tampa to take on equally impressive 2-1 South Florida. I have been taking a bunch of Grief for my belief in Rutgers, but they have not let me down yet, covering every week, and just pasting people along the way. When this season is all said and done people will look back and say that Rutgers was a good football team, as the Skrok said all season. It will be tougher going this week, but like I said Rutgers is a good football team, and will keep earning that respect as a good football team with an impressive road victory, So sayeth Skrok!

What do ya know... 2 and 0!

A ripping good job by the Skrok yesterday NAILING his College Parlay
Va Tech beat the 35 pt spread winning 36-0, and Wiscy also bested the 13 point spread beating SD St. 14-0. Also of Note the 'Cuse won +3.5 at Illinois I know the Skrok man liked that too but put off posting that pick as I advised against that game (cant go with a roady like that!) and in case anyone else is keeping track U.B. covered the 24 losing 31-13 at Northern Ill. Making U.B. oh by the way 3-0 ATS on the season, maybe only a 1-2 record on the season but thus far the best team in NCAA D-I to bet on covering every week... Keep it up U.B. the donation to the alumni association fun (of course held in trust at VIP sports ahem) is getting bigger with every cover!!

Howdy Folks Doctor Skrokter here once again to give you my breakdown on this weeks NCAA Football Action. Lots of interesting games and some great matchups this week, but I wont be having any of that. Instead I am focusing on what should be some real blowouts that we can cash in on, because as we like to say around here it's not about having some action on the good matchups, it's all about WINNING!

San Diego State at Wisconsin -12.5

The Badgers fresh off a 34-10 win over Western Illinois host another cupcake this week in San Diego State. Badgers quarterback John Stocco has been decent leading the offense, while P.J. Hill Jr. has stepped in to carry the rock this year. QB Darren Mougey is basically the offense for a banged up S.D. St team and had two rushing touchdowns in the home loss to UTEP last week. Lynell Hamilton led the team in rushing with 43 yards. They wont find the going any easier when they travel up to Wisconsin this week. Wisconsin has won by an average margin of 22 points in their other games this season, and that is why we like them to again this week.

Duke at Virginia Tech -34.5

Duke may be a powerhouse in basketball, but the story isn't quite as rosie for the blue devils in football. Duke is 0-2 on the season and though they did cover in a respectable 14-13 loss in Wake Forest last week, they will be hard pressed to stay with the high powered Hokies in Blacksburg. Virgina Tech crushed North Carolina 35-10 on the in Chapel Hill last Saturday, and should easily outgun Duke this weekend.
Branden Ore had 114 yards and three touchdowns on the ground to lead the Hokies last week, and may find the going even easier against a less talented Duke team in Blacksburg. No need to tease this one either The Hokies Defense just may be able to cover this one on their own. This one should be Hokie-Dokie if you ask me!

Hey folks its the Skrok here, having a go at this college football thing once again.
I had a long discussion with some friends last night, they were all bent on betting on the Tex-OSU game. While that is all well and good, to me the object of betting is not to have action on a game, to make it more interesting instead the OBJECT is to make money. So while Doc Biff loves the big matchups which make for great TV, the Skrok is looking for the EASY winners to make some money. I have been red hot lately, so I am bound to cool off eventually but lets see if the Skrok can Rock one more week!

Illinois at Rutgers -9.5

The STATE university of New Jersey! That's Rutgers university hosting a BIG TEN team Illinois and laying points. That's right though Rutgers is a program on the way up, and Illinois might be worse than Buffalo! Sounds like a joke, but it would be a bigger joke to roll the dice on OSU-TX. Go for the easy win, Rutgers, that's right Rutgers: the state university of New Jersey.

This should be another interesting game. At least for me since I will have money on it. Akron is one of the better Mac teams, and it seems MAC teams have been giving the big boys big scares lately. More mandatory MAC picks! Showing some love for U.B. (the boss' alma matta, like I had a choice) Turner Gill has the confidence flowing with the Bulls, they are 1-0 after beating Temple and look to keep the love going with a trip to Ohio to play Bowling Green. While Gill has them going in the right direction, unlike some delusional alumni think, they aren't quite there yet. The Bulls will come crashing down to earth this week, but that 24.5 for a confident new look program might be just enough to make the Alums happy one more time!

Everyone likes the Buckeyes in this one, the payback factor, the suspensions, and until last year Mac Brown. All reason to take OSU. However, How can you not like Texas as a home dog. I mean its OSU not Oklahoma. The burnt orange army will be in full force and hookem' horns gets shoots a whole through OSU national title dreams in September.

Football Fans, It may be the offseason, but the draft previews aren't the only football action going on. Drew Henson of the Cowboys is at the helm for the Rhein Fire, as history has shown QBs who do well in NFL Europe usually can translate that into NFL Success. Just ask Jake Delhomme, or Brad Johnson. Could Henson be the next one. Well you will have to watch and see.

Doc Biff's Final Report Card

Well another great season of NCAA Football has come and gone, last year's studs are now all focusing on the NFL combines, and the upcoming NFL Draft. For many others it was the last hurrah, the last time they will strap on that chinstrap and walk on that field. For those guys, we sure hope they paid attention in all that other stuff going on while they were in college, like classes, cause the Real world is coming, and it hits harder than a blue-chip NFL prospect Linebacker.

Speaking of hard hitting reality, time to tally up this season's picks and see how we did.
(apologies for not getting this done sooner!)

Doc Biff's Bowl Bonanaza:

Straight up winners: 15-13 (53.5%)

Doc Biff's Bowl Bonanza: Part Deux

This is where it gets serious. No more Weedeater Bowls or Tuna Fish Bowls. The remaining games are all big ones. Let's take a look at the matchups and see who's gonna win it all:

Texas Tech (-3.5) vs. Alabama
Doc loves that crazy, freaky Tech offense. Coach Leach is a genius. Still, Bama has a mean defense which will contain the Red Raiders and give the Tide a some scoring opportunities. Roll Tide.

BAMA 13 - T. Tech 10 WINNER
Outback Bowl
Iowa (+1.5) vs. Florida
On paper, the thing that really stands out is the talent advantage that Florida has over Iowa. Kirk Ferenz is the great equalizer, though. The guy has shown that he can get his team ready for a big game. This one should be close, but Doc is giving the edge to the Gators, who seem to be coming together after some rocky times under Urban Meyer.

FLA 31 - IOWA 24 WINNER

Virginia Tech (-8) vs. Louisville
Va Tech has been a bit erratic this season. They are a hard team to figure. Still, the pure athleticism of Marcus Vick and the tough Tech D and special teams always gives them a chance. Plus, with starter Brian Brohm out, Tech can key on stopping RB Michael Bush. Tech wins big.

VA TECH 35 - UL 24 WINNER

Capital One Bowl
Auburn (-10.5) vs. Wisconsin
Two great backs will be going at it in this one, with Wisconsin's Brian Calhoun and Auburn's Kenny Irons. Doc is a huge Barry Alvarez fan, and this will be his last game as the Badger's coach. Still, methinks Auburn just has too much on both sides of the ball to lose this one. Look for the Tigers to win big.

Ohio State (-4.5) vs. Notre Dame
This is a big time matchup between traditional powers. ND brings it's high octaine offense and OSU counters with one of the finest defenses in the land. The key will be how ND's defense fares against the Buckeye's O. Doc likes Ohio State because they have an improving offense with plenty of weapons. The Irish D has shown that it is prone to giving up the big play. OSU wins a close one.

Georgia (-6) vs. West Virginia:
Georgia will be playing basically a home game in this one. Don't discount the Mountaineers just because they are from the Big East. They can run the ball on anyone, and play tough defense. Doc is going with the "home" team, but look for a tight game.

Orange Bowl
Penn State (-10) vs. Florida State
A matchup of the two winningest coaches of all time. The JoPa love fest will continue into 2006, because the Nittany Lions are just the better team. Take PSU and lay the points.

Rose Bowl
USC (-7.5) vs. Texas
The Grandaddy of em all. This is what college ball is all about. Now, despite the fact that every sports show is fellating USC on a daily basis (best team of all time?) these Trojans are pretty darn good. Texas will be playing with a chip on thier shoulders after hearing about how great USC is all week. Doc doesn't think they can stop USC from scoring a bunch of points. The question is: Can Vince Young match them point for point? Yes, he can. This will be a great game, but the defending champs will win in the end. Carroll's record in big games is light years better than Mac Browns.

Alright everyone, here goes. I know most people couldn't care much less about the early bowls, but for you hard core college junkies...this is where ya'll can make some cash. Don't be afraid - tune in and you will see some great games. I am going to give you my picks through this year. Next issue will contain all the New Year's Bowls, including the National Championship game in the Rose Bowl.

Southern Miss (-17) vs. Arkansas State:

Well, Doc just can't see Southern Miss losing this one. Arkansas State isn't a very good team - just look at what Army did to them. Plus, Doc likes the Bulldog's D. Take em and cash in.

SMU 31 - AK St 19 WINNER

12/21:

GMAC Bowl

UTEP (+2.5) vs. Toledo:

This game is gonna be fun to watch. These teams can really light it up. Not a whole lot of D going on either. Doc is going with the underdog Miners in this game, I like that kid Palmer at QB.

Poinsetta Bowl

Navy (-1) vs. Colorado State:

Normally, Doc would take the Rams in this game but this year Sonny Lubick's team has not shown the ability to stop the run. Cue Navy. The nation's best running team against one of the very worst defending the run. Go Middies.

Navy, 27-23.

NAVY 51 - CSU 30 WINNER!

Las Vegas Bowl

BYU(+6) vs. California:

Now, I've seen both these teams play a few times, and I feel that right now Cal is just the better team. More athletes, plus they have Marshawn Lynch toting the rock. Kid's got skills. I'm taking them and laying the points. Cal, 36-21.

Hawaii Bowl

Fort Worth Bowl
Houston vs. Kansas
The key matchup here is Kansas' top 20 Defense vs. Houston's offense. Doc says the Jayhawks stifle the Houston attack and squeak out a win inspite of their horrible offense.
Kansas, 20-16.

KAN 42 - HOU 13 WINNER

Nevada (-2) vs. Southern Florida:

These are two pretty good teams that no one ever gets to watch. Coach George O'Leary has brought this team a long way since last year's 0-fer the season. Doc is jumping on the bandwagon and taking the underdogs here.

Memphis (-5.5) vs. Akron:

Memphis has the best back that no one ever heard of in DeAngelo Williams. This guy is the real deal. Akron is called the Zips. Ouch.

Champs Sports Bowl

Clemson (-7.5) vs Colorado:

There currently isn't a line on this game probably due to the Buff's coaching situation. Coordinator Mike Hankwitz will coach the team for this game before Boise State's Dan Hawkins takes over. Doc has to go with Clemson in this one. That Whitehurst kid is a stud.

Tigers, 35-18.

CLEM 18 - COL 10 Winner

Insight Bowl

Arizona State (-11) vs. Rutgers:

Doc has to give props to the football program at Rutgers. This is their first bowl game in a looong time. Hopefully, this is a sign of good things to come for the Scarlet Knights. However, they still have to play the game, and Doc just can't see them hanging with the Sun Devils. Too much firepower and too much speed. ASU, 44-17.

MPC Computer Bowl

Boise State (+1) vs. Boston College:

Can Boise send Coach Hawkins out in style? The guy has had a great run in the WAC, and now is going to try his hand in the big time at Colorado. Meanwhile, Boston College quietly had another pretty good year under coach O'Brian. Doc thinks BC will represent the "big" schools here and show the little guys that they aren't quite there yet. BC, 34-31.

B.C. 27 - BOISE 21 WINNER

Alamo Bowl

Michigan (-11.5) vs. Nebraska:

Two schools that just ooze tradition going at it in the Alamo Bowl. Kinda sad, but both teams had sub-par seasons. Will Nebraska ever learn the West Coast offense, or should they just scrap that whole new-fangled thing and run the 'bone? If ya'll know the Doc, you know what I think.

Michigan, 34-7.

NEB 32 - MICH 28 LOSER

Utah (+8.5) vs. Georgia Tech:

The Utes will be without their QB Brian Johnson. It wouldn't have mattered.

Tech, 28-14.

Holiday Bowl

Oregon (-3) vs. Oklahoma:

The big news here is that Adrian Peterson will make his return for the Sooners, who were dead in the water without him. The Ducks have been crying for the past month about how the BCS screwed them. Do they even want to play this game? Doc thinks the Sooners have more motivation here, and will pull the upset.

Sooners, 33-30.

Minnesota (-3.5) vs. Virginia:

Doc is a big fan of the Gopher's rushing game. They are fun to watch, and can play physical D as well. Virginia will have trouble here, especially after losing three assistants to better jobs. Gophers, 36-24.

UVA 34 - MINN 31 LOSER

Sun Bowl

Northwestern (+3) vs. UCLA:

This game is going to be a real treat for those who like lots of scoring. The defenses in this game will actually be cardboard cutouts. Doc is going to show his bias and pick the Midwestern team to take out the boys from the left coast. Plus, Brett Basanez is a better QB than Drew Olsen. There, I said it.

Wildcats, 44-38.

UCLA 50 - NW 38 LOSER

Independence Bowl

South Carolina (-4) vs. Missouri

I don't know how you can go against the OBC (Spurrier) in this one. Brad Smith gets worse every year for the Tigers. He should've gone pro after his sophomore year.

Peach Bowl

LSU vs. Miami

There will be no line in this game do to the uncertain status of Tiger QB JaMarcus Russell. Doc loves the way the Tigers play, but its hard to pick them without Russell. Both teams bring top shelf defenses that are really nasty. Doc is taking the Hurricanes here in a close one.

NC State (-3.5) vs. South Florida:

Two teams that can also play some defense. NC State is always fast and athletic under coach Amato. South Florida has had a nice season, but they will go home disappointed on New Year's Eve. Wolfpack, 20-16.

Liberty Bowl

Fresno State (-7) vs. Tulsa:

Coach Pat Hill has been lighting up score boards for a while now over in Fresno. Doc doesn't think Tulsa will be able to slow them down enough to get a win. Take the Bulldogs in this one. Fresno, 40-28.

TULSA 31 - FRESNO 24 LOSER

Houston Bowl

TCU(-4) vs. Iowa State

Well, this one should be a good game at least. Not often we get to see either of these schools on TV. Doc has always liked TCU comes in with a gaudy 10-1 record, but don't be fooled. Who have they played? SMU is the team that beat them, and that says a lot. Iowa State has been tested by a bunch of good schools. Doc likes their chances here. Take a chance on the Cyclones.

Doc Biff's guide to Championship Weekend

Alright, I'll say it. I freakin hate the conference championship games. They are just another money grabbing move by the NCAA. What does Texas have to prove by going and beating up Colorado AGAIN this season? I don't get it. Still, tons of bowl money is riding on these games, and the teams will be feeling the pressure. Before we get into the games, I just want to thank everyone for coming on and talking college ball this year in the FORUM. It's been a great season, and keep a look out for Doc Biff's annual Bowl predictions!

Now, on to the games:

USC (-21.5) vs. UCLA

This one might be interesting. This is a huge rivalry game, and both teams are playing very well this year. The way Doc sees this one, the Bruins just don't have the defense to win the game. The question becomes then: Can Drew Olson and the Bruin offense score enough to stay in this one and cover the spread? The Doc says...Uh, no. Sure it's a big number, but the Trojans absolutely hate these guys and will be sky high for this one. The beating that UCLA took to Arizona this year makes me nervous. USC's D will make enough plays to keep UCLA from getting very close. USC, 45-21.

Texas (-27) vs. Colorado

This one has all the drama of a lawn mowing exhibition. I mean, the poor grass doesn't have a chance, right? Texas will beat Colorado, no doubt. However, Doc has got to think that Texas will have trouble getting up for this one. They know they can beat Colorado. They are thinking about everything that they have to lose, and will play tight. The Buffs keep within range, but of course lose. Texas, 34-13.

Finally, a good matchup. These are both very good football teams from the deep south. Every year, Doc shows too much faith in Georgia and it bites him in the butt. Call me stubborn, but I like DJ Shockley and the boys. With him healthy, they are dynamic. They have all the pieces in place to beat anyone. LSU has JaMarcus Russell at QB, and he has been erratic throwing the ball. LSU is a running team anyhow, but they have also had some trouble protecting the football. Georgia will enjoy a home-like atmosphere at the game, and will pull out a big win. Dawgs, 24-20.

GA 34 - LSU 14 WINNER

Virginia Tech (-13.5) vs. Florida State

This was going to be the year that the ACC proved that it wasn't just a basketball conference with a couple good florida teams. However, Florida State has been roughed up by injuries and QB problems and Miami lost to Georgia Tech, for chrissake. Virginia Tech has been pretty darn consistant under Frank Beamer, and it looks like they are going to take the ACC title. Doc just can't see this Seminole team winning on Saturday. The Hokies have the D, they have the special teams, and they have Marcus Vick. That will be more than enough. Hokies, 31-17.

FSU 27 - Va Tech 22 LOSER

West Virginia (-9) at South Florida

For those that still care about the Big East (count Doc as one), we offer up this matchup. The Mountaineers will go to the Sugar Bowl if they can get by the Bulls. So far, Doc has been impressed with West Virginia on both sides of the ball. Pat White has shown that he is going to be a real playmaker at QB, and coach Rodriguez always has his team ready to play. Take the boys from the mountains in a big win, and then we'll see if they can pull an upset in the Sugar Bowl. WVa, 33-16.

Well the Doc has been on quite the tear lately! Giving you 9 straight winners,
for those paying attention (and we certainly are!) and going 6-3 ATS over the last couple of weeks.

The Season totals arent all that impressive due to the slow start, but Doc is heating up right in time for the Big Bowl Season!

Once Again I want to take the time to Thank the Doc for his stellar NCAA Football handicapping. As Doc himself has pointed out, he DOES NOT PICK games like Clemson Vs SW Alabama State to pad his stats Doc only handicaps the BIG TIME College match ups!
Thats why game for game, my money rides along with the Doc (more often than not).

Unfortunately, we are nearing the end of the regular season for the NCAA. The good news is, we can start to talk about the BCS. Now, the Doc is a card carrying member of the Destroy the BCS Club, but right now it's all we've got. My guesses for the BCS games are as follows:
Rose: USC/Texas...this hasn't changed since August.
Fiesta: Notre Dame/Ohio State - Oregon is crying that they should get a shot, but playing teams like Montana and being in a non-football part of the country will hurt them. A classic matchup like OSU/ND is too hard to pass up.
Orange: Virginia Tech/Penn State - Miami gets shut out due to late season upset to Georgia Tech. Lots of good hitting in this one.
Sugar: LSU vs West Virginia - Well, this one could just as well end up being Georgia or Auburn, but Doc is going with LSU for now. West Virginia gets the nod from the Big Least, but probably isn't as good as some other choices. Maybe they come with a chip on their shoulders and play tough....
There it is, guys and gals - the Doc's BCS lineup predictions. If ya'll don't agree, take me to task on THE FORUM.

On to this week's matchups. Remember now, Doc only picks the big games...we won't be discussing the merits of the SW Montana State/Eastern North Dakota game here, so for you real hard core gamblers, I apologize.

Virginia at Miami(-17.5): Virginia keeps piling up the talent under Al Groh, but they have constantly let the Doc down in big games. Look for the U to bounce back big after last week's crushing loss. The Canes should win going away. Miami, 37-17.
MIA 25 - UVA 17 WINNER/No Cover

Notre Dame (-17.5) at Stanford: Both teams have bowl games on the line here - the Irish need the win for a BCS bid, and Stanford needs a win to be Bowl eligible. It will be the last game ever played in historic Stanford Stadium (or whatever it's called). ND has been in cruise control the past few weeks and playing a bit flat. Look for a crisp performance from the Irish, who want to make their case for the BCS on the field. ND, 42-17
N.D. 38 - STAN 31 WINNER/N.C.

Georgia (-3.5) at Georgia Tech: The Ramblin Wreck is feeling pretty good about themselves after going into the Orange Bowl and beating Miami. Still, Doc has to go with the Dawgs here. Shockley is back, and the team should be back on track with him healthy. The UGa offensive line should be able to control the game against a tough Tech D. Dawgs, 23-14.
GA. 14 - G.TCH 7 WINNER

Florida State (+3.5) at Florida: The Seminoles have had a tough season that has been marred by injuries and inconsistency. The Gators have had a tough season that has been marred by a lack of offensive cohesion while they learn a new system. Both teams were thought to be BCS worthy, but it looks like neither will be bowling for the big bucks. Doc likes the Gators at home here. Urban is taking heat right now, but he will right the ship. Florida, 24-17.
FLA 34 - FSU 7 WINNER

Pittsburgh at West Virginia(-13) : The Backyard Brawl. How can you not love a game with a nickname like that? Both of these teams need to win for a shot at the BCS. Doc already knows that WV is a much better team, but will they cover the spread? Yes, they will. The Mountaineers have the offensive firepower to go along with a fast, attacking D. Pitt hasn't been able to put it together all year. WV, 31-14.

Ohio State (-7) at Michigan:

One of the great rivalries in all of football, if you choose to believe Keith Jackson and the UM/OSU message boards. Both teams seem to be playing their best ball of the season after stumbling early. THE Ohio State University has more on the line, like a BCS bid and the Big Ten championship. I like how the OSU offense has come along, but this one will be won on D, as most Big Ten games are. Henne and Hart will find the going tough, but this one will be closer than the seven points. tOSU 26, UM 24.

tOSU 25 - MICH 21 WINNER!

Alabama (+7) at Auburn:

This one is called the Iron Bowl. Great names such as Willie Joe Namath, Bart Starr, Cadillac Williams, and Bo Jackson have played in this one. Both teams are still looking for a shot at the SEC title game and a BCS bid. Doc watched Bama closely last week, and came to this conclusion: the offense is God-awful. I mean bad. Great D, but it's just not enough. Auburn at home with a tough win: 14-10.

Auburn 28 - Bama 14 WINNER/No Cover

Clemson (-2) at South Carolina:

Doc is going to jump in line with everyone else and give props to the Ol Ball Coach. Spurrier has done a great job so far with the Gamecocks. Now, unlike most of the media, I am going to add that the cupboard wasn't as bare as many would have you think. I mean, Lou Holtz isn't exactly chopped liver either. Anyhow, back to the game. Clemson has been looking very solid with Charlie Whitehurst leading the way. Big win for them last week as well. Doc likes the matchup for the Clemson offense vs. SC's defense. Spurrier's boys will be fighting a let down as well - don't believe his "shucks - it was just another game" crap. Tigers, 26-20.

Clemson 13 - S. Car. 9 WINNER!

Penn State -7.5 at Michigan State:

Joepa is everyone's sentimental favorite for coach of the year honors. Now, Doc thinks that his boys have been underperforming for years and it's about time they started playing like Penn State again. This team has shown heart, balance, and toughness all year. On the complete other side of the spectrum, we have the Spartys. John L Smith has gone whacko, blaming losses on his coaching staff and basically losing the faith the team. Speaking of the team...they have just absolutely tanked. Will this be the week that they put it back together and play like the team that started the season so strong? Of course not. Things have really gone south since they planted that flag in the turf at Notre Dame. Karma? PSU, 33-16.

Okay, guys and gals...the Doc is back from an unexpected haitus. Got stuck in Dallas with no internet. It's true - everything IS bigger in Texas.
Anyhow, on to the games. This week seems to lack the sex appeal of recent weeks, but there are still a few gems, and the Doc is here to highlight them for ya'll. Let's go for seven today...

LSU (-3) at Alabama: Both teams have a lot riding on this one. Can Brodie Croyle finally find an offense against a real tough Tiger D? This one will be an old fashioned SEC slugfest, with the best D pulling it out in the end. Bama gets the nod, 16-14.
LSU 16 - Bama 13 LOSER

USC (-18.5) at California: This one was supposed to be a great one. Lots has changed since the season started, however. Cal QB Joe Ayoob just hasn't been able to get Cal's offense in gear. The Trojans, of course, haven't had any such trouble. Doc loves Coach Tedford, and Cal always plays SC tough...but I think the Trojans win big here because the Cal offense won't be able to keep up. USC, 45-24.
USC 35 - 10 WINNER!

Northwestern (+19) at Ohio State: Northwestern will have it's hands full as they travel to the Horseshoe in Columbus. The Wildcats have a chance, though. They have the Big Ten's top ranked passing attack, led by QB Brett Basanez. The Buckeyes counter with the nation's eighth-ranked scoring D. The Wildcats upset Ohio State last year, but that will only serve as motivation for the Buckeyes. Take the home team in this one. Buckeyes, 38-17.
OSU 48 - NW 7 WINNER!

Oregon (-4) at Washington State: Oregon is making a push for the BCS as an at-large team. QB Kellen Clemens is out with an injury, and will be replaced by Dennis Dixon, who along with Brady Leaf, led the Ducks to victory last week. Doc thinks that Mike Belloti's crew will find a way to win another one and keep it's BCS hopes alive. Ducks, 28-21.
Ore. 34 - Wash. St 31 WINNER/No Cov.

Florida (-4) at South Carolina: Steve Spurrier is just dying to take on his old team, and new Gator coach Urban Meyer certainly wants to show Gator faithful that he is the man for the job. On paper, you've got to like the speed and depth of the Gators, but the ol ball coach has some tricks up his sleeve. I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt, but the Gators pull out the win.
Florida, 27-24.
S. Car 30 - Fla 22 LOSER

Navy (+23) at Notre Dame: ND has won the last 41 in a row in the nations longest running continual rivalry. Navy can move the ball against anyone with Paul Johnson's option attack. However, Doc is wondering how Navy's DBs are going to be able to slow down the tall Irish receivers. Look for the Irish to cover this spread, 45-16.
ND 42 - Navy 21 Winner/No Cov.

Auburn (+3) at Georgia: Man, the SEC is tough. The good news for Georgia here is that they get stud QB DJ Shokley back to deal with the Tigers. Neither team is going to light it up here, but ya gotta give the edge to the Dawgs with Shokley and the home field. Georgia, 23-14.

This is a tantilzing MAC match up, but not a game I really love. Just something to get on for tonight. Ohio comes into this one with a lot of momentum. Having won two in a row, while the Rockets are slumping having dropped three in a row ats. Probably because of the stats available from the extreme stats ( http://www.panageotech.com/thencaaedge/ncaa-XTRM.html) everyone has gotten on Ohio and pushed the line from 12.5 all the way down to 9.5.
That is a HUGE FLAG, and I also dont think Ohio is nearly on the same level as Toledo.
Laying 9.5 on the road is dangerous, but in this case Toledo really outclasses Ohio, and I wont break a sweat tonight and ride the Rockets!

Yeah these arent the Hurricanes they are playing and getting a whopping 31.5 points I am getting on the Bulls figuring they get back to thier covering ways this week.

This should be quite an entertaining game out in the Mountain West. Wyoming is a sneaky good team despite thier 2-5 record. Utah despite being 5-3 has not covered even once this season.
That is the only explanation I can see why this line is so small. Last season Utah rolled over Wyoming in Wyoming, and has averaged 46 points against the cowboys in thier last couple meetings. This one should be right along the same lines.

Allright, you college ball freaks. Lets talk some football. Doc is still trying to figure out who kidnapped the Michigan State football team and replaced them with the ladies chess team. Ugly.
Anyhow, lets look ahead, shall we? This week might look much less sexy than the previous couple, but a few good upsets might make this week even bigger. We're going to highlight the best matchups of the week, and ya'll can jump on board or go to the FORUM and tell the Doc he's nuts. Do so at your own risk.

Boston College (+13.5) at Virginia Tech: The Hokies have made a living on Thursday night games since before that other Vick was taking snaps for them. The Hokies are dangerous on Thursdays, winning their last ten. Marcus Vick and company should be able to take care of business, but there could be trouble. BC is always well coached, and will be ready to take on this challenge. Doc is taking the road dogs in this one....The first upset of the weekend...BC, 28-27.
Va Tech. 30 - BC 10 LOSER

Georgia (+4) at Florida: The Dawgs lost their QB DJ Shockley to a leg injury and will have to lean on untested Joe Tereshinki to lead them. Florida, on the other hand, has some real troubles on offense. These are two great defenses going at it, and Doc can't help but think that Florida will force Tereshinski into some mistakes. With two weeks to prepare, Urban Meyer will show us why the Gators hired him. Florida, 17-14.
FLA 14 - UGA 10 WINNER

UCLA (-7) at Stanford: UCLA hasn't been beaten yet. Has anyone noticed? Are the Bruins for real? If they are, they need to make a statement against a team like Stanford, who they should handle. Doc thinks the Bruins have too many athletes for the Cardinal, who need to hope for a letdown from their public school rivals. Bruins, 38-24.
UCLA 30 - STAN 27 WINNER/No Cover

Michigan (-4) at Northwestern: Randy Walker and his spread offense have really taken off in Evanston. The Wildcats lead the Big 10 in scoring, but have a suspect defense. The Wolverines are playing with a ton of confidence after big last minute wins against Penn State and Iowa. Doc sees Old Lloyd Carr playing ball control against this explosive foe, and wearing them down as the game gets on. Take the Wolverines for the win, but keep in mind that they like to play close games. Michigan, 31-28.
MICH 33 - NW 17 WINNER/No Cover

Purdue (+15) at Penn State: Purdue's season certainly hasn't gone according to plan. The Boilermakers have gone into the tank for some unknown reason and haven't even been playing good defense despite having the whole team back from last season's stalwart unit. The Lions have too much power and confidence for Purdue. They are wobbling, and just waiting for the knock out punch. JoPa, 36-14.

Last week was yet another reminder of why college ball is the best ball being played. Are you kidding me?!? Ya just don't see the passion and pagentry like that in the No Fun League. You do get weird country-western songs and other redneck revelry, however. Doc is gonna pass on that.
Lets talk about this weeks games - there are a couple of gems coming up, and here's how I see 'em:

TEXAS TECH (+16.5) at TEXAS: Boy, that's a big spread considering these are both top ten teams. Unfortunately, Tech is going to need a HUGE game from Cody Hodge just to stay in this one, and Doc thinks he comes up short. We're gonna take the Horns big at home, pulling away in the second half. TEXAS, 44-24.
TEX 52 – TxTch 17 WINNER

VIRGINIA TECH (-10.5) at MARYLAND: The Hokies are still in the thick of the race for the Roses. Maryland is unrated, but still a scrappy bunch led by QB Sam Hollenbach. The Terps will be looking for revenge from a 55-6 pasting at the hands to the Hokies last year. Doc thinks the home crowd and revenge factor will keep the Terps in this one till the end. Virginia Tech, 26-24.
VA TECH 28 - MD 9 WINNER/No Cover

TENNESSEE (+3.5) at ALABAMA: This is what it's all about. A classic SEC clash of two storied rivals. Both of these guys can play defense. The difference will be that Bama can play offense a little better, led by Brodie Croyle and Ken Darby. Doc isn't sold on the Tennessee QB situation right now. Bama by 10, 27-17.
ALA 6 - TENN 3 WINNER/N.C.

AUBURN (+6) at LSU: Call me crazy, but Doc really likes Les Miles and the job he's doing at LSU. It ain't easy following a guy like Saban, but Miles is a real good coach in his own right. These two teams played in a classic last year, a 10-9 Auburn victory. This time, look for LSU to play great defense and make a play or two on offense to win the game. LSU, 23-14.
LSU 20 - AUB 17 WINNER/N.C.

SYRACUSE (+12.5) at PITTSBURGH: These are two terrible teams. The Cuse has looked positively awful, getting pounded by such powers as Rutgers and Connecticut. Pitt hasn't been as bad, but still managed to lose to Ohio earlier this year. Pitt's D will keep SU from establishing anything on offense once again and lead the Panthers to victory. Pitt, 27-13.
PITT 34 – S.U. 17 WINNER

OREGON STATE (+9) at UCLA: Are these Bruins for real? Somehow, Karl Dorrell's team just keeps winning. This week should be a pretty good test with the Beavers coming to town. O State should not be taken lightly after upsetting Cal last week. QB Matt Moore, a UCLA transfer, will want to show his old team they made a mistake in choosing Drew Olsen over him. UCLA will prevail, but it's gonna be close. Bruins, 30-28.
UCLA 51 – ORE. ST 28 WINNER/N.C.

NORTHWESTERN (+11.5) at MICHIGAN STATE: Ya know Doc had to throw in a Big Ten battle to this week's picks. This one should be fun to watch in that it won't look anything like your father's Big Ten game. We could see a hundred points in this one, as both teams will come out throwning and neither will offer much resistance. Gotta take the Spartans in the end, however. The home field and superior athletes will win it. Sparty, 45-38.

Alright guys and gals...another week, another bunch of big games. Are those Nittany Lions for real or what? Can anyone stop USC? These are the big questions around college football right now. The answers might be provided this week as both teams face tough opponents on the road. Lets look at the big games of the week (according to The Doc):

Texas (-18) at Colorado: The Doc watched Colorado give Miami all it wanted to handle earlier in the year. This team isn't half bad, and seems to play very well Boulder. This is probaly the best team remaining on Texas' schedule, so the Horns will be focused. Doc is taking Texas because of their better line play and Vince Young. Might be closer than everyone thinks, though. Texas, 29-20.
TEX 42 - CU 17 Winner/No Cover

Florida (+6) at LSU: The two newby coaches in the SEC face off, and the loser is going to start feeling the heat from the fanatics down south. Right now, Doc sees a Florida QB that is struggling to pick up Coach Meyer's system. Luckily, the Gators have a tough D because they are going to need it all year. LSU will win at home, and Urban will be text messaging his next quarterback recruit. Tigers, 24-14.
LSU 21 - FLA 17 Winner/No Cover

Penn State (+3.5) at Michigan: Is this a case of the Wolverines getting a little too much respect from the guys in Vegas? Doc has been fooled by this Michigan team before, but I like this matchup for the Wolverines. Penn State, coming off a huge emotional win last week, will walk into a trap on Saturday in the Big House. Michigan makes the Big Ten picture much cloudier...UM 21-20 (of course you take those points).

USC (-11.5) at Notre Dame: The hype for this one is in full swing already. Rumors of Bon Jovi and the Boss showing up for the pep rally on friday night give some indication of the significance of this one. Doc has two thoughts here...1) That you can play USC great and still lose by 21... and 2) This Notre Dame offense is good enough to give the Trojans fits. I'm hedging these bets and taking Poodle Pete's boys in a close one. USC, 35-31.

There are some good games this week, so ya'll just pay attention and we'll show ya how it's done:

Oklahoma (+13.5) vs. Texas: The Red River Shoot Out...enjoy it while you can. Doc hears that this game is going to dissolve into a home-and-home series if and when the Cotton Bowl gets plowed under. Too Bad...
Texas is just too darn good to lose this one. If Mack Brown can't win against an injury-depleated Stoops team than he never will. Won't be easy, though...Texas 24, Oklahoma 20.
TEXAS 45 - OU 12 WINNER/No Cover

Ohio State (-3.5) at Penn State: Old JoPa is making another run. Good for him. Ohio State is going to walk into a crazy, victory-starved stadium on saturday. Doc likes the pressure that Ohio State can bring, though. They will be on Robinson hard and force him to make quicker decisions than he wants to. This will be the key. Ohio State by ten...27-17.

Michigan (-7.5) at Minnesota: The Gophers got exposed last week against Penn State, and Doc thinks that Michigan has the kind of defense to do it again. Those that were writing off the Wolverines were premature...look for Hart to have a great day on the ground, and for Minnesota to be forced out of their running, ball control gameplan. Michigan 31, Minnesota 21.
MINN 23 - MICH 20 LOSER

Cal (+1.5) at UCLA: These are two teams that have looked vulnerable this year, but have found ways to get 'er done. Cal has been putting up the points like we've all come to expect a Tedford-led team to do. The Bruins have been led by the stellar play of Ben Olsen and the running of Maurice Drew. A close game that will see the home team pulling the minor upset. UCLA 31, Cal 28.
UCLA 47 - CAL 40 WINNER

Syracuse (+6.5) at UCONN: Take it from an upstate New Yorker: This Cuse team is just plain bad. The main problem is that they've dropped the "men" from their nickname and are now just the Orange. The players feel castrated. They are playing like it as well. UConn has really build a solid team and can put points on the board. Take them at home by a touchdown. Huskies, 28-21.

Rutgers as a favorite? Yeah that is funny. Although its more of an indictment of "the mustache" Dave Wannstedt as it is praise for the Rutgers program. Sure they may have won a couple of games. But dont be fooled its Rutgers, the beat Univ. of Buffalo and they didnt even cover that point spread! Pitt routed Rutgers 41-6 last year, and as clueless as Wannstedt is, the Panthers can roll it up again against Rutgers.

Syracuse at Florida State -23.5
Staying in the Big East, this game jumps out at me. Syracuse does have a 1-2 overall mark going in and meeting 3-0 Florida St. team. However the Orangemen are 2-1 ATS while the Seminoles also sport a 2-0 ATS record. The cuse lost last time out to the Cavaliers 27-24, however as 7-point home underdogs covered. Syracuse did look disoriented at time on offense in that game, but settled down and played solid in the second half to make a game out of it. The wont have a break with Bobby Bowden's team in Florida. The Noles will be charged up and all over Syracuse, still I think that young Syracuse team showed me enough poise that they can weather it and make a game out of this one as well.

Karl Dorrell's troops are sky high after a home win against the Sooners last week. They came away with a 41-24 win. That has been the story all year as UCLA has been running over people.
I ran with the Bruins in thier first two winns laying big points. I shied away from them last week against Okla. but realized this is not your typical Bruin team. They are good.

Arizona is 2-6-0 ATS in their last 8 away games, and they are 2-6-0 ATS in their last 8 games against California.
California is only 1-3-1 ATS in their last 5 games, but at home against a conference rival they will start off strong.

They are 1-0 ATS this season while the Jayhawks are 1-1 ATS. Kansas won at home as a 15-point favorite, 34-14. Last time out. The Red Raiders meanwhile only put up 63 in a 63-7 win against the Indiana State.
This game is likely to be all about the Red Raiders's offense. They are 1st the nation in scoring and look to sustain their 66.3 PPG average against the Jayhawks's #16-rated defensive unit.

Yo they put up 80 last week. 80!?! Indiana State has been routed by the likes of St. Francis (Indiana) and Murray State. The Sycamores are 0-9 all-time against Big 12 schools and have not scored in their last two games against Big 12 teams, losing by a combined 82-0 at Nebraska and Iowa State in 1999. So if you like winning, Take Texas Tech.

Michigan at Wisconsin +3.5

OK well as I am filling in for the NCAA Master the Doc I owe it to him to go for at least one 'MARQUEE MATCHUP' and this is it. It don't get no bigger as two heavies from the Big Ten Collide in Madison. Michigan, is 19-3-1 all-time at Camp Randall. But these two teams have not met since 2002, yet the Wolverines have won the last six matchups to take a 47-10-1 lead in the all-time series.
Wisconsin was expected to be in a rebuilding mode after having four defensive linemen drafted, but the team is determined to send coach Barry Alvarez out a winner in his final season before taking on the role of athletic director full-time.
The Badgers are fourth in the nation in rushing defense, allowing 39.7 yards per game, and have conceded only one touchdown in the last 10 quarters. Wisconsin will feature Tailback Brian Calhoun who had 171 yards and both touchdowns in Wisconsin's 14-5 victory at North Carolina. Running will be the key to keeping the ball out of Chad Henne and the explosive Michigan offense hands. The Wisconsin Defense will have to really rise to the occasion. The Wolverines will be in a hostile environment and will really have to be on their game to keep the Badgers from derailing Big Blue.

South Florida is 2-5-0 ATS in their last 7 home games

A tough match up, as Bowling Green is one of the better teams in the MAC.
They have one of the better offenses in the game, and they will need it as Boise State tends to score big at home. Boise State is not quite as good as they have been lately, but they can still play. Up there on that blue carpet, I will not go against the Broncos. B.G. can be tough and will hang with them, but the energy and momemtum of a prime time game in Boise will carry the Broncos.

Southern Cal vs. Arkansas: This game would be tough for most schools, but SC ain't most schools. Another big win for Troy...48-20
FINAL USC 70 - ARK 10 WINNER

Tennessee at Florida: Rick Clausen gets the start for the Vols. Good move going with experience in a tough environment like the Swamp. Urban Meyer is calling Tennessee the best team he has ever faced. Spoken like the true Lou Holtz deciple he is. Florida wins big, 28-17.
FINAL FLA 16 - TENN 7 WINNER

Florida State at Boston College: BC's first big game as a member of the ACC. Most years, Florida State would crush these guys but Doc isn't sold on this 'Nole offense. Those crazy Chestnut Hill fans make for a tough game for Bobby. BC, 19-17.
FINAL FSU 28 - BC 17 LOSER

Michigan State at Notre Dame: This will be Charlie Weis' toughest test yet. Drew Stanton is the real deal at qb, and will give the Irish fits with his running and passing skills. Still, ND's first home game will give the Irish a huge boost and help them seal the victory. Irish, 31-21.

Hey fans, its been a rough go here filling in for the doc. Maybe you all should be fading my picks, as I wound up getting snuffed out at 1-3 A.T.S. last week, after a strong start to the season. I still had 3 winners(Syracuse, Georgia, & G.Tech) but got back doored in a couple of those games. Still it brings my overall record 5-2, straight up, and 3-4 Against the Spread.

The Boilers roll down into the dessert to take on a pretty good Wildcats team. I love the match up here as I think Purdue might be a little bit overrated. Heres a match up I really love! Sure I know Nebraska is offensively challenged, I have watched them play this year! However I know that defense if for real. A marquee match up in the ACC. New participant Boston College has started the season very strong. Not however as strong as Florida State. The Noles are on a roll, I know its up in Boston, but that don't matter. State has too much speed, all over the field. I respectfully disagree with The Doc on this one, as I feel 1.5 pts is a gift.

This one is another gift. Don't be fooled by the name, Florida Atlantic - FAU has only had a D.I Football program for a few years, and traveling to Minnesota is a tall order even for decent teams. The Gophers are solid, and F.A.U. is just in way over their heads. Always a danger laying a huge number like this, but I am not worried, as even the backups on Minnesota will be running it up on F.A.U.

For my man Greggy the Greek! Yeah I know I dissed the Bulls last week, and they were my only BIG WINNER (SU + ATS) last week. In fact I can make a living trashing U.B. As they have yet to score a point this season. Thats right two straight shut outs. They have an inexperienced QB, making only his third start. Rutgers may be a doormat in the Big East, but they are way more talented than Buffalo. Or ARE THEY?
Just two years ago, U.B. went into Rutgers and Beat them. So maybe Buffalo isn't as overmatched in this game as everyone thinks. Home field in Buffalo really doesn't mean anything, but those three touchdowns sure do. Watch U.B. crack the scoreboard this week!

Sure 'Cuse is a 23 point favorite, and that sure is a lot of points for a team that only put up 7 last week. However this is Buffalo not West Virginia, and S.U. is way to big and too fast for Buffalo. Sorry Greggy, but your Bulls will be Sacrificed in Syracuse.

as UGA will be smiling there in Athens Georgia!

Undefeated N.D. visits the big house and undefeated Michigan (-6.5). A huge game for both these programs. Notre Dame will seek to build on the impressive debut of Charlie Weis, while Michigan has much bigger expectations. This rivalry has produced many surprises in the past, and I hate to do this to the Doc, but I just think Michigan is the better football team. While the better team doesnt always win, it could come down to coaching, and while I have tons of respect for Charlie Weis, I think getting his team to go in and upset Michigan is a really big order.

And my streak, as Miami's was bound to eventually end.
Still at 2-1 on the first weekend of College ball is respectable.

Off to a great start, hitting both ND +2.5 and UCLA -9.5 this weekend.
One last NCAA Play on Labor Day - the Canes and the Noles.

This one is in Tallahassee - home of the Noles, and they are getting the 3.5 points.
Its a new season and both of these powerhouses have lots of new faces.
Miami has held the edge in this series lately having won the last 6 meetings,
and more importantly covering the spread in 5 of those victories.
This one will be close for most of the game, and the 3.5 makes it a tough call, especially in a rivalry like this one. The play is still the Hurricanes, and I am saying to lay the points,
but if you can buy a point laying 2.5 in a game which might be decided by a late FG
might be worth your while.

I'll bite the bullet here though and put my perfect record on the line riding the Canes...
